Q4 Clue 833 | How to make something discussible
The same applies here: recognise your primary style, but utilising or deploying your other styles can help and even be more effective. The strengths and pitfalls of the DISC styles.
D-style
The style in us that speaks directly and without beating around the bush. In some cases this is fine, but it can also be perceived as ill-considered, too outspoken or even confrontational.
I-style
Prefers not to get into a (potential) confrontation. Can ignore it and hopefully it will go away on its own. But it can come out spontaneously. Or very light-heartedly, supposedly as a bit of a joke.
S-style
Finds it difficult to bring something up for discussion. Can sweep it under the rug. But has an empathetic style and can make things open to discussion in a calm and non-threatening way.
C-style
Thinks carefully about it, considers all the options and prepares before saying anything. The timing can be off. It can even be experienced as a kind of ambush if the other person did not see it coming.
