Q4 Clue 816 | Communicating better
With the holidays, parties and get-togethers coming up, it may be a good idea to get your own and each other’s DISC ‘pitfalls’ straight again?
D-style
Communicating is talking and listening, not a monologue. Sometimes, especially in the Christmas spirit, it’s okay to be a bit impartial and respectful towards the other. Consider your body language, too.
I-style
Keep your attention, especially in one-to-one conversations. Stay on topic. And if you are wrong for once, dare to admit it—a mea culpa instead of talking yourself into it deeper and deeper.
S-style
Dare to give feedback or counter feedback. You don’t always have to agree. Also, be open to other things, new ideas, etc. Ask questions and make time for the other person.
C-style
Sometimes, it’s good to put your sense of pride aside or your (absolute) reality. When feelings and emotions are expressed, change your perspective, for instance. And always remember to smile!
