Q4 Clue 808 | Failing teams
Maybe you follow Max Verstappen in the F1. Last year his team won almost everything but in the last few months things have been going downhill. Generally, how can a team’s performance change (so quickly)?
D-style
Lack of direction, uncertainty, wavering, etc. Things can quickly go wrong when decisions are made half-heartedly or not at all, especially when unpopular or difficult ones are left hanging (too) long.
I-style
Trust gets damaged or falters. This can also happen quickly, and then a team rapidly falls apart like loose sand and/or small islands are formed. And that is undoubtedly not performance-enhancing.
S-style
In a team, everyone has to do their bit—no egos or slackers. Also, transparent and fair directions and instructions have to be in place. If not, you may get unwillingness and even counteractions.
C-style
Knowledge walks out the door. Everyone is replaceable, but when key people leave (suddenly), there is often a gap first. To fill that in and out requires time to settle, even if everything is there.
